Neither of my two cresties are very active. During the day Gollum hangs around attached to the side of the tank. He can stay there the whole day without moving until it gets dark. Once the sun goes down he walks around on the branches and hunts for his crickets. He spends most of his time doing stick impressions.
I don't see Gandalf during the day since she hides in the plants. Once it gets dark she goes down to the bottom of the tank and sits in the entrance way of their little hide. She catches her crickets and occationally goes up to the top shelf where the babyfood and water is. But mostly I see her peeking out.
When I take either of them out they are very active. Climbing all over and jumping from body part to body part.
The quiet behaviour in the cage sounds normal enough to me as long as you have seen them eatting and pooping. I hope this helps a bit.
