The infrared should not bother your crested gecko, however if it bothers you a ceramic heat emitter should be fine. I would imagine a 40-watt would suffice. However get it now and experiment with it until you get the right temp. Once you properly calibrated the cage temp, then you can go out and buy your gecko =)
