Hmm that is kind of long period of time. If this thing spread as fast as you said it did, it might have appeared after you received them. If they came with the bug already in their system they should have succumbed quicker to it (unless it was chronic hepatitis) due to the stress of shipping and a new environment. However you mentioned they were fine for a while. Either way there is no sure way to know until the final results are in. Please post if when you can.
