Check out the cage forum for ideas on natural setups. It really does not matter what you start out with, it all depends on what you want to do with them (breed down the road, just pets, etc). If you plan to breed it might be cheaper to buy a few hatchlings and hope for the best as females can be very expensive. The 10 gallon tank will be fine as long as your gecko is not to big. A 10 would be a little cramped for an adult animal. Warning about natural setups: They look great, but can be a pain to clean if you have a lot of animals. Remember cresties can be messy animals =). Anyway good luck with your search.
