Wow...maybe that is what he is doing. He normally wakes up and does it. It is kind of a clear white. How do I knoe for sure. Anything else happen? Sometimes it looks like he drops his 'thing' just a little bit when he does it, but it goes right back in. I think your right.

:Does he lick it directly from his vent? If so then it is not urates, its semen. Yes you read that right, for some reason male cresties get excited easily, and after they do they clean them selves. All of our males display this behavior; even the young ones have been seen doing it. It happens on occasion when we clean their cages or handle them. I have no clue why they do it; perhaps they smell the females on our hands. They would make good spokesmen for viagra tho...hehe.
