:I have a clutch of crested eggs that I'm about to incubate and I have a few questions before I begin. Would anyone maintain that females are typically produced at temps around 79-80 degrees? Has anyone noticed that males are a likely result of incubation at room temps in the mid seventies to high sixties? Also, is there a reliable way to create a simple incubator (with a UTH or a sumbersible aquarium heater)? I need something, at least temporarily, while I'm waiting on an order for another incubator. I have one hovabator now, but it's for helmeted gecko eggs, so I don't think that I can incubate crested eggs in there at 84+ degrees.
: I read all the posts about the porous ceramics, but I don't really know how to get some for personal use. Is there somewhere that I can order a small amount from as I'm not a business? I'm going to start with perlite, but I don't want to use it if it could have a deleterious effect. I have many more questions, but I think these are top priority for now! Any and all suggestions would be appreciated tremendously! :)
