I agree in this case that rubbermaid is probably the best decision. A 55 gallon rubbermaid container can be reinforced with 2X4's at the top so that it doesn't bow when you fill it up with water, not a necessity but it does allow you to put more water in it. By spending little on the container she can perhaps invest her money in a good filter and a heater. The heater is very very necessary or they are in danger of getting upper respitory infection.
