i've had my turt for less than a year, i've put almost 500 dollars into her with vet visits, medications, etc. her carapace has always looked horrible and she's always had an excessive shedding problem which i think i found the reason why for. But her shell just seems to be getting worse. I clean her tank once a week (just did it right now) and i took her out and there seems to be green mold looking stuff under her already torn ugly looking scutes. also, around her scutes looks horrible, nothing like what healthy turtles should look like. Even when i peel off the scutes its soft underneath and i swear it hurts her. Now her shell has been this way since i got her, but i think it might be getting worse and ive done all i can for her. does anyone have any advice, i can use as much as possible. i've used betadine soaks and perscription shell stuff (forgot the name) i just dont know what to do anymore. She has adequate basking spots, totally out of the water, a good filatration system, the basking light is perfect temp. I don't think i'm doing ANYTHING wrong (whenever i write here people always tell me i'm doing something wrong) please help.
