:I have been thinking of this for some time, and was trying to figure out what kind of pump to use. Today, a local store was going out of business and had an old pump from an Eheim filter. It's an OLD one...canister. It was about 8" diameter and the pump bolted to the top which had a separate piece that made the seal to the canister. A short piece of hose came from the can to the filter. They had a couple of these filters they were wanting $80 for (used), but I didn't really think that was such a deal.

:The one pump I guess came from a busted canister, and I got the pump only for $5, and the guy gave me about 20 feet of eheim (metric) hose.

:Anyway, I now need to think of something I can use for a canister. I need a large can and something I can seal up. Metal would be nice cause I'm a welder and can weld in any fittings I need. I even considered a pressure cooker, but there's got to be better ideas, and cheaper.

:any ideas are welcome..

:thanks

what about a small steel ammo canister from stores like army navy
