newbie with a question

hi i hope someone can help me
when i was younger i had a box turtle but not for long (i couldn't take care of it so i gave it away) now i was in the pet store the other day and they are selling baby turtles from the pics on this site i think its a slider i have to go take a closer look. my question is how big do they get i heard what ever these turtles are the don't get big also will a 10 gal tank be good enough for 1??? and whats good for them to eat??? thanks alot
