I would think that as long as your turtle is eating, swimming, basking I would not worry. How big was he when you got him? I got my turtle last summer too and he has grown about an inch from 1 and 1/2 to 2 and 1/2. Its not good for them to grow too fast.

:My two baby turtles I bought in the middle of the last summer, I was with my freind also and he bought one too, all RES. My friends is about four inches now and mine are only about an inch 1/2. Is there something wrong that I am doing. I feed my turtles guppies and otehr fish, crickets, reptomin shrimp, reptomin pellets, and they get cuttlebone once in awhile. They have a basking spot. And use it alot. I use a Uvb bulb for them.

:Also I read about this china town in an earlier post this week, what is it? Thanks
