How bad is spinach?

we have read a lot of extreme views of spinach being excessively bad as turtle food, with a some members even labeling it as 'poisonous' !!

we would appreciate the views of the 'learned' list members on this.

- aren’t all foods harmful, if dependant on solely?
- and if a turtle is fed spinach 3-4 times/month out of a total feeding occasions of approx. 15/month - how bad is that?
- if one varies a diet between aquatic plants, spinach, squash, turnips, tomatoes...how bad is that?
