:Thrasops jacksonii appears to be the most commonly kept species. They are not dangerous, I have not been bitten(other than hatchlings) yet but I have first hand information(no pun intended)that their bite is like a non venomous bite with a slight amount of tingling. They are extremely voracious feeders and will eat anything, even snakes!!, their natural prey is Chameleons. Try not to overfeed, as they will quickly become obese. I briefly had a pair of hatchling T. aethiopisa, these were very similar to the jacksonii. Hatchlings may prefer live prey or require assisting for a few feeds. Try Karim at La Ferme Tropicale in Paris,France. He gets these in occasionaly. They are usually exported from Burundi, so any importer dealing with Burundi is a good bet. Hope this is of use.

: Hi! I am curious about some characteristics of Thrasops ssp. I've read in this forum that they looks like boomslangs. Are they as venomous as boomslangs? were can i buy some? are they rodent\fowls feeders? Thank you!!!
