In preparation for the forthcoming book project "Biology of the Corn Snake, Elaphe guttata"
Edited by Notker Helfenberger & Klaus-Dieter Schulz, BUSHMASTER PUBLICATIONS Germany & Switzerland (visit their website at http://www.bushmaster.ch/HTML/BushPub-Index.htm)
Contributors: H. Bernhard Bechtel , John Decker (Florida), Neil B. Ford (Texas), Troy Hibbitts (Texas), J. Alan Holman (Michigan), Kenneth L. Krysko (Florida), Shawn Lockhart (Iowa), Bill Love (Florida), Kathy Love (Florida), Jim Mclean (Louisiana), Robert A. Thomas (Louisiana), David P. Tracer (Colorado), and Kathryn Vaughan (Texas).
The editors are looking for photo material of the Corn Snake ELAPHE GUTTATA (E. guttata & E. g. emoryi specimens with locality data). Most important are shots of specimens from the following states:
New Mexico, Arkansas, Mississippi, Illinois, Georgia, Virginia, New Jersey, Kentucky, Nebraska, Eastern Colorado, Delaware, eastern Louisiana, Maryland, and West Virginia. However, photos of specimens from others localities and habitat shots are also welcome.
Slides are preferred but negatives and developed photos are also welcome. If you have digital data of your photos they have to be in Tiff-format (300 dpi, size A5), jpg's or gif's are too much compressed, the quality is too poor for a good printing.
They are also are interested in photos of all color morphs (!! especially wanted: a cubed motley morph) and of hybrids between "guttata" and other genera like Pituophis, Lampropeltis etc. !!!
All photos will be handled with the utmost care and sent back after they have been scanned.
Every contributor shall receive 1 complementary copy of the subject work. If 20 or more photographs of one particular photographic author are used, he shall receive two copies with an additional 1 copy per 10 photographs in excess of this.
If you do not have any photos and you might know somebody, please forward this message.
Please direct all correspondence to me, Sacha Korell. I will collect photo and info material and send it to Mr. Schulz for review and consideration.
Sincerely,
Sacha Korell
