Males do have longer, more tapered tails than females - so that sounds correct.

His behaviour also sounds like he is looking for a mate. Best find that boy a lady quick. If your toher snake is female I'be be surprised if there wasn't some mating going on so maybe you have two males. They should be alright together if there's no female around!!
