Question about black ratsnake w/pics

: I have had this black ratsnake for about a year and a half now and it has always had this raised area on it's Prefontal and Internasal scales. The snake is a wild caught from Tennessee and was rescued by a friend whom thought the snake was sick. The snake is very healthy, eats consistently, and has grown about a foot since I have obtained him. My question is, has anyone seen this before and/or can anyone explain what this is?
