: : The herp culture continues to be defined by the next big thing. The world is that much smaller and since there are rarely any "new" species found we've had to look in other directions. Like any other commodity, the supply and demand of the trade has burdened us with a bombardment of "morphs".
: While true to a certain extent, there are lots of other snakes out there that have been discovered (sulfer-bellied chicken snakes, thai bamboo rat snakes for instance) but just aren't imported very often, and other snake species (indonesian rat snakes for instance) that just haven't had much public exposure.
I've always been interested in these rare rats but I havent seen anyone else successfully breed them yet. And where do I get the wc stock?? In the Orlando expo about 6 years ago there were male bamboo's for sale but NO females--and I havent seen them since. I'm also somewhat interested in BOIGA but I think getting rid of the offspring could be a (leagal??) problem. I do agree that we all shouldnt reinvent the wheel and have the same stuff--just make it available to the public and they will buy...Jeff
