: I've been dealing with faded amur rat snakes for about a year now. They are very closely related to the russians, sometimes commonly bred with eachother in captivity.
: Anyway, it's normal for them to go off of food for a few weeks at a time.
: I've read a few sites that mentioned that they are these extremely high metabolism snakes that take food aggerssively whenever offered, but that just isn't true with my pair.
: I've had good luck feeding smaller prey to mine than they'd usually be able to take. So, if they're eating hoppers, you may wanna try like a very small fuzzy or something. Sometimes, the smaller prey does the trick.
: As for the gerbils, hamsters, variety thing, they don't need a variety.
: Is this animal captive born or wild caught? Also, how large is it?
Thanks very much for the help I fed her today and she ate 6 small fuzzies!!! (i think i will rename her piggy) Oh yeah shes captive bred 3ft long and nearly 8 months old
: : Hi everybody iv had my girl for seven months now and all iv ever fed her is mice but she hasnt eaten in two weeks and i think its because she hasnt had variety and was wondering should try giving her gerbils/hamsters/chicks/quails?
