Sounds like E. rufodorsata to me. They are very cheap and usually come in in bad condition. But I've also seen some that are really nice. Recently, the trade seems to be naming them 'Chinese corn snakes'. They are probably not very closely related to other Elaphe ( among other things they are ovoviviparous).
It would be nice for some US people to begin captive breeding them regularly so GOOD LUCK!
