: They are mean as any other hatchling and do take a little longer to tame down I think. But as adults they are great. I have 3 that are over 5' and they are big whimps. On the other hand wild caught texas rats are very mean. I used to catch them all the time as I live in Dallas, and they are by far the meanest wild snake in these parts exept for maybe a rattle snake. And I think this is where they get there bad reputation. I fell in love with the leucistics the first time I saw them. They are odd looking as hatchlings But grow into awesome solid white adults.

: : I got to flipping around the web tonight and seen alot of Texas rats for sale. I have heard that these snakes are very nasty tempered, is this true? I would think the babies would be like many other baby snakes but as adults?
: : Just a little curious
