He is at 18 months of age and I thought that might be what it was. I switched him to rats in Nov. and he ate them without a problem. If he is wanting to breed which I have never done before, how long will he be in this breeding mode? The last time I measured him he was at 55 in. and that was over 2 months ago. Also them Temps stay pretty constant 70-74 cool side and 80-85 on warm side.
thanks
: I'd say Clay is probably on the money - and the male may be wishing to breed - hence going off his food. Ridleyi and blues do this also.
: If it's not this - has his temps. altered in any way, or the food you are feeding him? Some snakes will only eat mice or rats if used to them. I had one which would only touch white mice - nothing else.
: You could try feeding him a live mouse and then quickly offering him a dead one with tongs while he's in eating mode.
