Hi Stephen - I got a pair of offspring last year from Adam Block (Impact Reptiles) and am very pleased with them. They will get long, but shouldn't have the girth of a pituophis. Mine are great eaters and are growing very fast. You won't see them very much except at feeding time or when they want to get a drink or sit in the water bowl. Any snake can be flighty (nippy), but mine have settled in real good with handling. This is my first year with them and I'll let some of the long term keepers answer some of your questions. I recommend getting a c/b offspring and working with it. That's one of the enjoyments you will get from this hobby/avocation. Taiwans are a great Asian rat snake and doesn't have alot of high maintenance requirements of some of the other Asians. Obviously something has caught your attention with having one and I wouldn't pass on the opportunity to work with them and learn answers to your questions first hand. Good luck Stephen and let us know if/when you get one.
