Terry,
All of the pictures look like typical KY black rats to me. Rat snakes I have seen or caught from the western, central, and northern parts of the state were all various shades of brown, black, or grey, with yellowish, greenish, or reddish tints to them. I don't see too many really black ones, most are brownish. The eastern portion of the state might yield darker ones, but personally I have never herped the area. I would expect them to become darker the further east you go in KY.
