generally a w/c can be a little nervous and flighty (even F1's) for awhile. I'm in Bakersfield, CA and there aren't any Elaphe obsoleta here. They say the Baja rat snake's norhtern range is just across the Mexican border into Imperial Valley, but I haven't heard anyone collecting one.
