In Reply to: Yellow rat snake out of hibernation too early... posted by Nyx on February 02, 2002 at 18:57:36:
: I had to remove my yellow rat snake hatchling from hibernation months ahead of schedule - I can't keep the temperatures in the room where he was brumating below 60°F.
: What, if any, ill effects can I expect from this "rude awakening"? How long should I allow him to warm up before feeding him? [he's very thin]

You should give him a few days at room temperature before you gradually warm him up again. You probably won't notice any ill effects. Yellow ratsnakes are pretty hardy and he'll probably go right back to eating like a pig.
Just out of curiosity, why are you brumating a hatchling?
Good luck,
Chris
