Two years ago, while in a local pet shop picking up some iguana food I noticed the place had just got a whole clutch of yellow ratsnakes in from one of their dealers and was selling them for $15 a piece. They were almost two feet and cb so I thought this was a pretty good deal... I inquired about them and they hadn't been there but a couple of days and I'd been mildly thinking about a new snake for awhile anyway, (I only had a single male boa constrictor at the time). So I decided to get one; the lady who was servicing me at the time told me to get one out myself (they were all in the same tank) and I fished around looking for a nice one. They all looked rather the same... the usual dull yellow and thick black lines. Then I noticed one sitting on the heating component that was really killer yellow and had reduced striping... Now back then I hadn't been exposed to the internet and all it's info on morphs and what not so I knew nothing about anything and it all seemed the same to me. I decided to get that one just because it was good looking. I called him gourgous as I grabbed his tail to pull him out and for my imputance he decided to turn around and tag me. I think I've loved him ever since even though his never tamed down.
Now to the question
What is he?
He was high yellow and pastelish in orange density when I got him but then once he hit sexual maturity he increased dramaticly in orangish/pink. For awhile I thought he wasn't worth much and was just a hybrid between e.o.q. and e.o.r. because his eyes and tongue were partially pink. But the more I think of the rest of the litter being normal and he being weird... I'm not sure...
Then on top of that he retained a lot of his baby pattern and has white highlights scattered between and sometimes on his scales on his sides similar to the speckaling in some black rats...
So is he a
evergladesXyellow hybrid???
a hypo yellow ??? <<or
????????
