Don't have any pics on the web right now. I gave my Easterns away to a good home last year, but my experience is that CB do better than W/C, and requirements are similar to other rats. I think your temps are a little high for winter, but if it's working, go for it. You could try to lower it a little. You didn't say if it was W/C, or not. When they want to hibernate they usually refuse to feed, or slow down a lot. They also might start wandering a lot, or rooting around in the substrate. I use aspen bedding mostly, along with some paper/towel filled containers. Good luck. TC/Ratsnake Haven
: he is now probably 4 feet long, give or take a little. the warm end of the cage is about 85 and the cool end is about 75...does this sound sufficient? how would I know if he wants to hibernate? what kinds of substrates can I use for him? and last, do you have any pics of yours and their set-ups? thanks again for the help!
