I have a pair of E. o. obsoleta that I purchased in May 1993. At that time, the male measured 6' 2" and the female 5' 7". I then estimated them to be at least five years old. Their current lengths are -- male: 7' 4", female: 6' 3", and I now estimate their age as being at least 14 years, possibly even three or four years older than that. Their 3.5-yr-old son (owned by friends of mine) is presently about 4.5-ft, but hasn't been accurately measured.
Their last babies were hatched in yr-2000 (Aug 31 - Sept 2). The longest of those babies (male) is now 3' 6", at 17 months old, and the shortest (female) is 2' 6". They laid a clutch last year, but I was on holidays at the time, and the caregiver failed to incubate them properly. We're hoping for another clutch this summer.
