Some of the Eurasian ratsnakes can make successful fall matings, such as dione and bimaculata. There's no reason they wouldn't want to mate in the fall or winter, if they were kept together, and the temps were right. My Persians also mated in the fall before hibernation. I suspect your male tried to take advantage of the size difference and that the female might be too young right now. Terry.
