Housing and keeping them isn`t so different from other ratsnakes. Keep them a little cooler in a high terrarium with a lot of branches and hibernate them every year, also as juveniles.
Unfortunately they are almost disappeared from the hobby and only the subspecies sauromates are seldom seen as sale shows or anywhere else.
They are easy kept animals with a nice temper and only breeding seems to be a problem with them
