First is Kadin. She was a WC sometime in June '01, very sweet, never refused a meal, died Sept. 16, 2001.
All pictures for Kadin are from Sept. 14, 2001. She had just shed.
She was amazing, would just put her on a tree and she'd stay there like velcro (or for that matter, like an iguana you put on your shirt).
I know, it's very dark, but I liked how it showed the scalation (it's a word NOW) of the head.
I liked how she contrasted with the bright marigolds.
Now for Freund: 3 1/2 ft black rat, also WC in Howard County, MD. Released in mid-July.
Yes, she had a very unusual pattern for a black rat, I suspect that they were scars and not her natural patterning from what the scales looked like. They were sort of withered and twisted, I have better examples of bites(?) that haven't been uploaded to webshots.
As you can see, the posterier part of her ventral had a lot of red in it. She also had checkers.
No, that junk wasn't her substrate, my dad caught her in a birdhouse and simply dumped all of the moss, sticks, and snake into a container. This is also a decent head-scalation shot. You can see a bit of the warped red scales on the red line of scales.
Enjoy!
