My Leucistic Texas Ratsnakes are getting pretty big and can eat 3-4 normal sized mice at one meal. When the female are developing eggs or have just come out from cooling, they will down 5 if I let them. I've got 3 so we're talking alot of mice here.
Can a large ratsnake (5-6 feet) handle a full size rat for a meal? I'm guessing that rats have more food value than mice since they should have a better volume to surface ratio (less hair and more meat). Anyone here feeding rats?
