Most American Ratsnakes are some subspecies of Elaphe obsoleta. Cornsnakes and Emoryi ratsnakes are Elaphe gutatta.
The only real differences are that corns don't get as long and corns are usually easier to handle. They're all great animals though! The petstore near me has a big female Yellow Rat that is over '7 feet
