Vets usually carry a cream called Panalog. Its perscription only, so you might need too take your snake in. If you already have a regular vet he/she might be willing to help you out without charging you an office visit. By assist feeding are you refering to tease feeding or force feeding. Force should be done as a last resort. If you must force feed make sure the food item is small enough that it takes very little effort to get it down. Something I often do with stubborn snakes is feed them legs from fuzzy and hopper mice.That will give them enough nourishment to grow. I had to do that with a baby everglades I bought this year. After her next shed she started eating like a champ. I apolagize for straying from your original question, but I hope this helps you out. Good luck with your snake.
