: : Please don't figure out the dosage based on the above as Baytril comes in different concentrations.
: : I'll look up the dosages this weekend and re-post. Feel free to e-mail me if I don't get to it soon
: He said(vet)to give the injectable baytril, and he did ask me about the dose strength;all I have to go on was Scott's post as he tried to help with what his vet had done. So,my vet gave me a 1cc syringe(we use catheter tip)and of course the injectable is in solution, permitting us to give the oral dose well down past the glottis. We are to give .50cc once a day until the 1/2 of a full 1.0cc dosage is completed,in short we are giving orally 1/2 of a full 1cc dose of injectable baytril stretched over a 5 day period. If you can help in adjusting this dosage it would be very much appreciated.I have already emailed the other Chris Harper(crotolids),who explained to me(we have emailed each other before)that this was not his post, but he knew you and spoke very well of you.I,of course, did not know there were two Chris Harpers on the forum.
: Please post or email to me your protocol.
: Thank you much,
: JL
This(re-read)is posted unclear.I meant to say that I am using a 1cc syringe, but it is only half-filled.So,each dose(daily or every other day)is given orally well past the glottis in .10 increments until the full dose has been given.I have given 2 doses at this point, but skipped a day between doses to create a small window until everyone's opinion is in.This snake is sick, but it is still drinking water, and feeding itself a pinkie mouse every 3rd day(It is digesting and giving good fecals every 2nd or 3rd day),and I am hoping for improvement in the respiratory system soon.
I have been all over the forums typing Batril into archives search;there are a lot of interesting posts concerning its use.I was quite surprised that many posters did not know the dosage their vet gave(especially Iguanids, possibly because so many kids keep them)and am determined to keep careful records so I will know dosage in case I change vets,or something.
I would like to thank everyone who has posted, and all further information is welcomed.
