strange scale on redtail greenie

hi
my slightly vivacious (gross understatement!) oxycephala has a strange scale: its grey and slightly raised. I don't think it may be caused by mites because the cage seems ok and there arent any in his water dish, where he spends some time....any ideas what it could be?
