: just received a pair of ridleyi. they are about 6.5- 7ft and heavy..they are cb and raised. looking for information on breeding techniques..temp and light cycles..any info. on reproduction would be appreciated. last year these animals copulated frequently through the winter months, but nothing resulted, not even slugs..any suggestions? thanks Dwight
Hmmmmmm, they copulated frequently but didnt even get slugs? what about ovulation or any decrease in feeding? If it were me I would sex them again to make sure it was actually a pair.
I have always heard to treat them similar to pythons when breeding, I have my pair now in the upper 70's low 80's during the day and down in the the mid 60's at night. Im going to keep with that for another month or so then try short introductions. As far as light goes, they are in 2x4 bush cages and are in the path of a window, so our decrease in photoperiod should be apparent to them.
Good luck!
Matt
