These impressive animals have the potential to get very tame. My adults, even the pictured female, NEVER get aggressive in a defensive manner. Even my hatchlings lose all aggressive tendencies with just a minimal amount of handling. I have noticed males seem to stay somewhat flightier than females, but realize I'm basing this on just a few animals. My adult females will often "grip" my arm much like a big Brooksi king. If they get a good solid base they tend to hang out somewhat. My adult males are very tame but don't like to sit still when handled. And one final note, as Chris felt the need to point out below, the bite of even a large adult is a fairly innocous event.
