If somebody asked me about friendly snakes to buy I would tell them to get a Mamba long before the Diadema. I had an adult trio that I sold last year and I've had the joy of 10 little ones. I can say they are stunning as adults, one of the best looking snakes I've owned for that matter, mine were the S. d. atriceps. They would be much closer in relation to a racer then a ratsnake. They for that matter are a far cry from any Elaphe. As for the venomous issue. I had a very hard time getting info on that. The person I sold mine to got bit all of the time and so have a few other people I've know, all with no ill effect. I would class them as not as bad as a Hog Nose but worse then a Garter when it comes to venom.
Good luck with them, I didn't want to down play em at all as they're really neat snakes. Just not the one I would tell somebody to buy if they wanted to ever hold the animal. If you want any further breeding info feel free to email me.
Good luck,
Adam Block
