... temperments vary among all the subspecies of e. obsoleta. Tx rats seem to get the bad rap, but I have owned/seen nasty examples of all the ssp.(blacks, greys, yellows, glades,etc)
There are lots of TX rats out there that are completely docile. But I have to admit, when one of them rears back into that "S" shaped defensive posture and begins to gape, I am never surprised. I guess you kind of expect it from lindheimeri.
