I haven't had a whole lot to say in here the past month or so. As I'm typing I was laughing thinking that if somebody wanted to hear from me a post about bairds is sure to pull me out of the woodwork.
The bairdi are very easy to care for, I've NEVER been so much as struck at by an animal over 2 months old. They never turn away a meal, they breed with no troubles at all. They get to be a good size but not too big.
Now for the down side.
Okay, well that didn't take long. Bairds are one of the best snakes you could ever work with. Why they aren't more common I couldn't begin to guess. I think people are getting more interested in this highly under-rated Elaphe as I sold out in a heartbeat this year and last year too for that matter.
If you're looking for care info on them I can say most of what applys to a Corn snake or Texas rat will fit them. I haven't noticed and troubles with them and water and I've never gotten a bad shed even with living in the desert but that's just been what I've seen.
Vivid would be one good source of them as I've thought of buying there myself. I will also produce a good number of them for 2002 if you can't find them anyplace else.
Good luck,
Adam Block
