I recently purchased a pair of '01s. They are real treats. So calm, you'd think they were over a year old. And eating like champs.
Anyway, I have been researching them for around 6 months.
I caught an unremarkable adult @ 2 years ago, and ever since, I have wanted to see or own more.
Here are several sites with care sheets or info:
www.reptileallsorts.com
www.kingsnake.com/chesa/bairds.htm
www.zo.utexas.edu/research/txherps/snakes/elaphe.bairdi.html
the best info around is in 2 books-Snakes of texas
and A field guide to Texas Snakes by Tennant
these are probably one of my 2 all-time favorite serpents. Mine are from Vivid reptiles.
Check out his pics, then see mine at
http://home.earthlink.net/~gbnsa/_wsn/page3.html
And I hope this gives you enough info, although for bairds rats, the info is scarce.
Enjoy, and I hope to talk with you again soon.
