Try the humane route. You may have some luck with trapping [get a pop bottle, the smaller kind, and put a bunch of warmed-up frozen/thawed pinky mice in it at night - the snakes will smell, come in and eat, and probably stay there long enough for you to grab 'em and toss them somewhere far from your B&B] - but if I were you, I'd give your location and see if anyone on this forum could come over and grab them for you.
Good luck...and wish I was in THAT B&B!

: For the past week, we have had several unwelcome guests at our bed & breakfast -- three baby rat snakes (about 10 inches long). One was found perusing the books in our library and two have been found in guest rooms (one of those in a guest's suitcase).
: Needless to say, this has freaked-out the guests...and the innkeepers alike.
: It appears that we have had a "hatch" somewhere in the basement or the attic (I've found discarded skins in both places, but have never seen the live adults). And the juveniles have had no problem finding tiny openings into the main part of the house.
: I've read that a "hatch" can produce as many as 30 snakes. And our business simply cannot tolerate that many frightened guests. What can we do?
