I read in "Ratsnakes" by Jerry G. Walls that the Black Ratsnakes were the meanest and the Yellows were the most docile. I've found it to be just the opposite. The Black Ratsnakes and the Albino Black Ratsnakes I have are very mellow and have been great. The only time I've been bit by a black ratsnake is when they have first arrived after being shipped. I'd be a little cranky too.
My biggest problems are with the yellows. If you like the Black Ratsnakes I suggest getting one or two or three... ... ...
