In Reply to: Egg incubation...who tried new techniques this year? *pic posted by Jim Demirjian on September 04, 2001 at 21:03:04:
: In an effort to get some more activity in this forum, I ask all who read to tell us about any new or old incubation techniques. I did try mixing vermiculite with some new spaghnum this year. I used some perlite on clutches of corns as well.
: I had one clutch of corns incubate for 85+ days, which I think is the longest I have let them go for. All hatched nice and big! Anyone utilize new medium or change up the incubator. Would love to hear what anyone else is thinking of doing for next year as well.
: This pic is something I am sure most of you in rat forum are not used to seeing! :)
: Enjoy.
: Jim
The first clutch hatched on basic vermiculite nothing big
second clutch hatched on vermiculite and cypress mulch.
and the last clutch hatched on a damped towel I use a small water bowl in all three clutch for humidity I'm a big fan of cypress mulch.I had a 100% hatch rate well I had a couple of infertile eggs too I have only blk rat snakes later Andre'
