if it is not the umbilical cord....there is nothing you can do.....

I have pushed them back inside the animal...and they usually come back out....(intestine)....one time it stayed in....and I always do it right away....yours has been a week.....

so....place it in a moist(not wet) container...paper towel works well in a deli cup or shoebox....

look again at it closely....is it swelled? ....like it is infected ?

not much to do. ,,,but wait....
