: : Well, yes, kinda jealous. Hadn't seen that phase of a TX before, and they are gorgeous. What's the phase called, anyway?
: Well they are called several different names. Albino, hypomelanistic, and lavender albino are three terms I have seen used to describe the same snake. Actually none are incorrect, but personally I think lavender is the most accurate.
: To call them albinos could cause confusion, because there are also pinkish/red and white albinos with red eyes. The "lavenders" have dark eyes as hatchlings, and they turn dark reddish as adults. The other strain of albinos hatch with red eyes that stay that way through adulthood.
: To label them hypomelanistic would be correct, but if so then they should be called "super hypos", lol. There are less extreme hypomelanistic versions of lindheimeri, so calling them just "hypomelanistic" would also cause confusion.
: That is why I personally choose to call them lavenders, because the mutation is similar to the lavender black rat mutation. They are not the "classical" albino, but at the same time are not the typical hypo either.
: My two cents, ;)
