First, great mandarina Ronda! I would have said yours are szechuan lineage as well.
Mine are in fact szechuan, for sure.
Bert, these animals tend to be stunning as adults, nice contrast and some maintain the ultra light background color. Also, it is nice NOT to see as much of the auburn color scale tipping. I have other mandarina I bought for their nice auburn-redish background color, but these are nicer in my opinion.
The animals with defined dorsal yellow stripe can also be quite interesting, taking away from the contrast, but adding to the overall great color. I think both Ronda and I have animals that display such yellows.
The males I have seen have been prettier, I think if your source has any equally nice females, buy them for sure, you can't go wrong as far as I am concerned.
