I used to catch these fairly regularly when I lived in Hong Kong where they are indigenous. I also kept a few. They are large (up to 4m) and powerful snakes that put up a hell of a fight. I can only speak for wild caught specimens but in my experience, adults adapt well to captivity but seldom become tame, making routine viv maintenance a headache with the snake having to be 're-caught' every time. They'll eat almost anything though - especially rodents and birds.
Ptyas korras were also widespread in HK and they were always far more suited to captivity in my experience, although I never persuaded a wild caught one to eat anything but frogs. In HK they frequent streams and paddy fields. Never managed to get hold of a pair so I can't comment on breeding them. Nice looking snakes though.
