This is really two different questions. First, what came first, the snake or the first amniotic egg? Or second, what came first, the snake or the snake egg?
As far as the former, obviously the egg preceded the snake in evolutionary history. The far more interesting question (and one that science has not yet answered) is what came first, the reptile or the amniotic chorion?
Regarding the latter, we don't know. However, it is assumed that the oviparity condition is ancestral in reptiles and that "ovoviviparity" is derived. However, that does not mean that oviparity in ancestral in snakes or squamates in general for that matter.
